"It is in playing and only in playing that the individual child or adult is able to be creative and to use the whole personality, and it is only in being creative that the individual discovers the self"

Are you a parent searching for support for your child?

It can be heart-wrenching to see a child struggle in their daily life. You might have noticed them withdrawing from hobbies or family activities, or perhaps they’re finding school increasingly difficult.

Perhaps you're feeling overwhelmed by their behaviour, especially when it starts to affect the whole family. Or maybe you’re just wanting to connect on a deeper level and understand your child better.

I’m here to help!

I work with a wide range of challenges, from everyday issues to more complex concerns related to mental health and child development.

There is no ‘one size fits all’

I understand that every child is unique, and I adapt my approach to meet their specific needs.

Using various techniques like play, art, drama, music, and sand tray activities, I create a comforting environment for children to express and explore their thoughts, worries and emotions safely.

I have a range of experience working with children therapeutically in Primary, Secondary schools and SEND schools.

My approach is child-centered and integrative which means I draw on a variety of therapeutic techniques to meet the needs of each individual child.

I aim to build a strong therapeutic relationship with each child and young person, enabling them to express their emotions openly and discover healthier ways to cope with their challenges.

There are many reasons why a child might find Play Therapy beneficial.

For example, they:

-are feeling anxious or stressed

- experience night terrors or sleep issues

- appear withdrawn, sad or lonely

- have difficulties with friendship groups

- have an EHC Plan or IEP - or are on the pathway

- express rage or aggressive feelings

- bully or are bullied by others

- are at risk of being excluded from school

- find everyday experiences difficult to enjoy

- have experienced a traumatic event or episode

- have experienced a loss, separation, or a family break up

- display low self esteem or self harm

-refusing school

Play Therapy provides a safe space for the child to explore and express difficult feelings or traumatic experiences. It prioritises their autonomy, enabling them to access their inner-world in a child-centred  and non-adult directive way.

If you believe your child could benefit from this kind of support, please know that you’re not alone, and I am here to help.

Don’t hesitate to reach out for more information- I look forward to connecting with you and your child.
