“The good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction, not a destination.” -Carl Rogers

Being involved in sport can be exciting and rewarding- but it can also bring pressure!

Training, competing, and balancing school/uni with friendships/relationships and family can sometimes feel overwhelming.

If you’re a young athlete, it’s normal to face ups and downs: you might worry about performance,

struggle with confidence, feel anxious, struggle with an injury, or lose some of the enjoyment you once had.

I can help!

I work with children and adults in person at my clinic in Morpeth, North Shields and online.. The way we work together depends on what feels best for you. Some people like to talk, while others prefer to be more creative.

I use an integrative approach, which means I adapt sessions so i am working with the person as an individual and draw from a wide range of resources and therapeutic disciplines, to find the approach that feels right for you and your individual needs.

You don’t have to be facing a “big” problem to benefit from therapy. Sometimes it’s just about having space to talk things through, manage the pressures of sport, or build confidence. For parents, it can also be reassuring to know your child has a safe, supportive place to explore their feelings and learn ways to cope with the challenges of sport and life.

Some of the things I can help with are:

  • Worries about competition or pressure

  • Returning to contact sport after an injury

  • Managing anxiety

  • Confidence and self-esteem

  • Coping with injury or setbacks

  • Fear of failure

  • Loss of enjoyment in sport

  • Balancing sport with school and friendships

  • Stress or low mood
